About project
For the 100th anniversary of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition
a book-album with memorable archive photos was designed
and a font was developed on the basis of handwritten signatures found in the archive album.
Historical background
On 9 March 1922, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee issued a decree on holding
the All-Russian Agricultural and Artisanal Industrial Exhibition in 1923. The exhibition was to be held on the territory of the vegetable gardens near the Krymsky Bridge, the garden of the Golitsyn hospital, the Neskuchny Garden and the Vorobyovy Gory. The master plan was drawn up by the academician of architecture Ivan Zholtovsky, who also designed the exhibition pavilion "Machine Building", or "Hexagon".On the territory of the future Gorky Park, 38 pavilions were built, and a total of 255 buildings were placed on an area of more than 27 thousand square metres.
